*Enlightenment Part 1

How to get Enlightened

To be enlightened is to gain information, with an understanding of its importance or relevance and to be able to apply it in the process of personal and general evolution – or is it?

Gone are the days when encyclopaedias can be updated quickly enough to accommodate all the information that is coming to the fore and it is possible that a written archive of our knowledge, for instant reference, is a thing of the past – but we now have the electronic archive aka ‘The Internet’. It may be no  more secure as a record than the lost libraries of Alexandria as, even if the information is stored, there may come a time when we, the individuals who would like to access it, will not be able to do so.

I often wonder what the percentage of truth on the internet might be – an optimistic 50%? I am concerned more here with information, rather than entertainment or marketing – if we concentrate on truthful information only, it is an interesting subject.

That leads me to wonder about information in general. A common quote about historical records is that it was mostly written by the victors and therefore would have a certain biased spin on it.

Reflecting on what I learned at school, I feel that most of it is now irrelevant as it was such a sketchy half-taught, half-learned fragment of what is available to learn, I have come to the conclusion that education isn’t about truthful information, more the learning of an ability to learn, and a way of keeping kids out of factories or off the streets.

As cynical as that may sound, I feel there is some truth in it, as one imagines the volume of 5-18 year-olds in your country alone. (What did we use to do with kids – well it was all about labour intensivity – as soon as kids could stand they were put to some good use, but they were not being taught information as much as useful survival skills.)

So what is information and why do we need it? Where does it come from and what do we do with it – apart from pass it around?

Those questions bring to mind the fact that we are thinking beings – sentient, interested, exploring, creative and intrigued beings; we love to find out stuff.

Which brings me back to truth – what, out of all the information that we think we know as truthful, relevant and established, is the actual truth?

I have Googled to my heart’s content when I want to know something but, on reflection, what I have found falls into a few categories.

1. Scientific data – knowledge from objective study, which we can call factual information, closest to the truth as we know it for the time being, but essentially only interesting to those working directly in research and development.

2. News – moment by moment reports about politics, finance, crime, sport, celebrities, fashion, scandal and weather – all of which is relevant for a day, as it is all transient and generally unimportant information.

3. History – various and dubious records of past events, which is interesting enough if we are going to learn from our mistakes but, well, it’s all in the past. From what I have discovered about history, there seems to be a lot of repetition, i.e. writers writing about the writing of other writers – ?

4. Speculations on the future – now this seems to be a very popular past-time – in just about everything listed above.

Speculation becomes much more interesting than studying what is known because no-one knows the future so everyone has a fair chance to come up with a winning theory – like betting – someone may be right. If we could really predict the future accurately, many people would be able to capitalise on it and make a fortune, but it would spoil the fun of speculation.

When speculation gets serious we are into another category of information that is mind-blowing. Prophecy and prediction.

What truth is there in a prophetic vision of a pious and solitary soul who wanders out of the desert and proclaims that he has had a conversation with God? For him, or her, it may well be life-changing, revelationary, interesting, thought-provoking and useful, but is it truthful?

It becomes ‘truthful’ when it is adopted by a few interested listeners who then spread the word and convince more interested listeners until it is all believed – as a truth.

It is at this point that I have my own revelation – I have a desire to know what is the truth, and to seek it out I go to a virtual deserted island, devoid of any other outside influence, and observe. I observe the simplicity of my virtual physical environment – a gently undulating empty ocean lapping against a pure untrodden sandy beach, with a cloudless sky of the brightest blue and the warmth of a friendly sun; the benignly swaying palms of the tall ancient trees and the magical calls of colourful birds from an interior to my desert island, where exotic fruits, nuts and berries await my attention should hunger arise and fresh water from sparkling springs to quench my thirst.

So here I sit, a virtual Girl Friday, and realise I have a dilemma: I am more than an empty mind in a simple body – I have memories, and all those memories are information that I have gathered from a complex connection with all I have left behind.

So I attempt to empty my mind, go into a meditative state where all thoughts become still, where I can be nothing, in a void. Even in this void I still have a sense, an awareness of self. It is here that the persistent and eternal questions arise – who am I, where did I come from, why am I here, and where will I go?

The truth is I don’t know, I can only try to build some answers based on information I have gathered, and speculate on what I can imagine.

*Moon Medicine

MOON MEDICINE.

In the esoteric philosophies, every aspect of the physical world, down to the smallest nano-particle, and out to the farthest reaches of the Universe, has another, more far-reaching meaning. This is sometimes called Hermetic Knowledge, or ‘As above, So below’.ist1_7457889-floral-ornament

THE MOON

  • The Moon orbits the Earth, does not rotate, and moves with us in our orbit around the Sun.
  • The Moon has a fluctuating character and because of its closeness to us, it influences the water on our planet and causes rising and falling tides, both in the oceans and in every living thing.
  • As it moves around us, its gravitaional influence pulls water with it. It ascends in the east and descends in the west, in its path across the sky and appears to change in size and shape, as the shadow of Earth and the light of the Sun move across its surface. We call it waxing and waning.
  • When the Moon is full, the half of the moon facing us is lit by the Sun. When the old Moon disappears, the shadow of the Earth covers it.
  • The reflected light radiating from the Moon affects our light, growth rate, sleep and dreams. The movement of the Moon affects our internal organs, brain function, thought and emotional responses, creativity and physical energy levels, and the height of the Moon in its trajectory, affects the length of time it influences us.

For example:

When the Moon is full, and is on its highest ascent path across the sky, more living things, for a longer time, will be affected.

When the old moon crescent disappears on its lowest descent path across the sky, fewer living things will feel its influence.

  • A full Moon, at the lowest descent mark, will shine its light almost horizontally across the Earth’s surface. It will be ‘in your face’.
  • A full Moon at the highest ascent mark will shine its light vertically down from above, and will be closer to you.
  • The Islamic flag has an ‘old Moon’ crescent because it is more apparent in the East in the early evening, with the evening star, Venus. (It appears in the early morning in the West)

    Old Moon

    Old Moon

All these different combinations have differing effects on us mere mortals.

Some of us are born in a season of increasing daylight hours, others in decreasing daylight hours.

Some of us are born around an equinox, or a solstice.

Some of us are born at night and some during the daytime. Some with the setting Sun, or Moon, and some with the rising Sun, or Moon.

And then there are all the other planets to take into consideration!

So we can see that the time we are born, and the unique set of circumstances in which we find ourselves arriving, can produce a very unique response to the world in each and every one of us. In Astrology, our Moon sign is as important to understand as our Sun sign. ( Click Here to get your Moon sign and Click Here to see how your moon will reveal aspects about you.) Those circumstances will go on affecting us in some way, in a repeating pattern, for the whole of our lives.

Apart from that, on any one day, the circumstances of that time and place will effect us all, collectively.

If the Moon is influencing us in a particularly strong way, most of us will feel it, either positively or negatively.

Some people Moon-gaze, are fascinated by it, and others never give it a second thought.

1. Blue Moon is the thirteenth Moon. (Magic)

New/Blue Moon

Usually there is one full Moon in one calendar month. There are different opinions on this, but once in a while there is a ‘Blue Moon’. This can either be two full Moons in one month, the second one being ‘Blue’, or four Moons in a season, instead of three.

In one calendar year, there are thirteen Moons, so a Blue Moon occurs about once a year. “Once in a Blue Moon” is a saying in our language for a very rare occasion, when something fortuitous happens ‘out of the blue’. But your particular ‘Blue Moon’, may be a unique configuration, that means something specific for you.

If, your Blue Moon occurs, you may find that your emotions start to increase, decrease, or mis-behave. If you are prone to moods, depression, tearfulness, highs and lows, manic behaviour, excitability, euphoria, grief, melancholy, bliss, or just plain old happiness, it may arrive more intensely and unexpectedly.

Red Moon

2. Red Moon is seen as an omen of war. It is red at a Lunar Eclipse. (Blood)

3. Yellow Moon , (or gold), is the Harvest or Hunter’s Moon. (Abundance)

Ice Moon

Ice Moon

4. White Moon, or Ice Moon, is the Moon high in the meridian, near the Winter Solstice. (Death)

5. Green Moon is the Mid-summer Moon. (Life)

6. Black Moon is when it disappears, or the ‘Dark Side of the Moon’. (Fear)

7. Pink Moon is when its light filters through the atmospheric dust. (Love)

Earth Medicine –  the Moon is Feminine applies to Water, and water applies to Emotions.

Nature lovers, gardeners and farmers know that certain Moon phases are good for planting, sowing, and harvesting.

World Mythology has images and stories of Moon goddesses, especially Diana the Huntress, Artemis and Hecate. Also ‘lunacy’, (or Moon Madness), mystery and imagination, beliefs according to the feminine principle, dreaming, seership, psychicness, intuition and magic.

Old Rituals were conducted by the light of the Moon, especially a full Moon, and associations with witches  and magic persist. People and animals of course will respond to the rising energy of a full Moon, as it brings on ovulation; mating orgies and pagan weddings were conducted according to this strong influence.

Astrology – The Zodiac sign of Cancer, (The Crab, June 21-July 22) has Moon as its ruling planet and represents Mother and Home.

Tarot – If the Moon appears for you, it may represent a time when the Unconscious Mind is very active and can cause uncertainty, and fluctuating emotions; but the Feminine Principle is at work and through dreams and images, a realisation will arrive, bringing insights and hope. It can auger a time when a woman enters your life, or when you are being asked to release the feminine in you to be receptive and intuitive, for the magic of the Moon is elusive.

quarter moon

Quarter Moon

Numerology of the Moon is 7. The 360 degrees of a circle is represented by the Sun, and is divisible by all the numbers one to nine , except seven, which relates to the quarter phases of the Moon cycle. (Also the four 7-year cycles within the 28-year cycles of Saturn.)

Honeymoon Deuteronomy 24:5 “When a man is newly wed, he need not go out on a military expedition, nor shall any public duty be imposed on him. He shall be exempt for one year for the sake of his family, to bring joy to the wife he has married.”

The Moon is elusive, changeable, of the night, mysterious, yet closely linked to us. It appears to be dead, physically, yet it is constantly metamorphasising, on the move, and has this strong influence over us –  one in which we seem to be inextricably linked. There is growing evidence of life on the Moon: not only have the remains of a very ancient, highly-advanced technological and possible extra-terrestrial (and lunar) race been found, the secret military activity of the U.S. is now thought to be present on the Moon.

When considering that all things have Consciousness, inviting Moon consciously into your life will enrich it beyond words. It is the Source of reflected light, our inner secrets and of our indirect enlightenment, that is, through the Unconscious Mind.

*Sun Medicine

SUN MEDICINE

Time-line of Sun

SUN STAR

  • The Sun is a star and has a finite life. It is about 4 and a half billion years old so far. In another 5 and a half billion years it is destined to become a Red Giant and after that it will become a White Dwarf. It is getting bigger.
  • It is a massive radioactive furnace of hydrogen and helium (and metal elements) and radiates its energy as heat and light emitting photons, which radiate outward, and at the distance we now happen to be from the Sun – 8.3 ‘light minutes’, and between 92.5 and 94.5 million miles – it creates life on Earth by the process called photosynthesis, (i.e. converting light).

    Solar Eclipse

    Solar Eclipse

  • Solar flares, Sunspot activity and magnetic storms (which create the Northern Lights) seem to have a direct influence on our world and have been noted to fluctuate in approximately 11-year cycles. At this time, in 2009, Sun-spot activity is reportedly very low. It is predicted that the build up to the next high will be over the next 3 years. This cycle of activity has been observed since the middle of the 19th Century and affects not only our weather, but harvests, health and political and military stability. That means we are affected individually too.
  • The Sun is the centre of our Solar System, around which our planets orbit.

TIME

  • Earth Time has a relativity to our Sun. Our ‘day’ is the time it takes for Earth to rotate once, showing all its sides to the Sun, causing time to pass as night and day. As the Earth rotates on an axis (approx 23 degrees) the length of day fluctuates between the winter solstice (shortest day) and the summer solstice (longest day) giving us seasons. Solstice means ‘Sun still-point’. This fluctuation is because either the Southern Hemisphere or the Northern Hemisphere is closest to the sun, as the Earth rotates around the Sun during the year.

    sundial

    sun clock

  • Our ‘year’ is the time it takes for Earth to orbit the Sun once.
  • It is thought that it takes approximately 25 million years for the Sun (our solar system) to orbit the galaxy.
  • Our time-clock is based on a year of sunrises. Before 1495BC it was 360 sunrises, (suggesting that either the earth’s orbit of the Sun is slower, or it is further away now).
  • This is the basis of the 360 degrees of a circle, and 360 can be conveniently divided by each number, 1-12  – except 7 and 11 ( see below*).
  • This circle is divided into 24 hours, or 2 turns of 12 hours (1 day, 1 night at the equinoxes) and is based on the 12 constellations and 12 Houses of the Zodiac (see below**).
  • In the circle (clock face) of 12 hours, each hour position moves through 30 degrees (12×30=360 degrees).
  • If the circle of one hour is divided into 12, each position is 5 minutes (12×5=60 minutes).
  • If the circle of one minute is divided into 12, each position is 5 seconds (12×5=60 seconds).
  • One hour= 60mins x60secs=3600 seconds. (When life was slower, were there only 6 moments in a minute?)
  • The angles of a 6-pointed star are 60 degrees between points on its circle (6×60=360) and 60 degrees within each point (6×60=360). (The 6-pointed star is a whole subject in itself which I may tackle in a blog post soon.)
  • *The cycle of the Moon is approx 28 days and when  divided into 4 quarters, or ‘phases’, each quarter is 7 days= 1 week. Saturn, also, has a 28-year cycle, which is 4×7-year cycles. Therefore the ‘7’ cycles do not fit into the 360 degree Sun circle.
  • *The Sun demonstrates an 11 year cycle of sun-spot activity and as such does not fit into the 360 degree Sun circle, therefore it does not have a relativity to Earth Time, although it does affect the Earth.
  • **NB – if the 13th constellation was brought into the picture, all these calculations would have to change and would present mathematical difficulties, which is probably why the system based on 12 persists.

This is another way to look at time:

There is an appointed time (zman) for everything. And there is a time (’êth) for every event under heaven–

A time to give birth, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted.

A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up.

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance.

A time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing.

A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away.

A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; A time to be silent, and a time to speak.

A time to love, and a time to hate; A time for war, and a time for peace. –Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8

LIGHT

  • The Sun is white – but its light scatters when nearing earth. The first frequencies to scatter are ultraviolet and blue, creating our blue sky, leaving the Sun to look yellow, orange or red as seen from Earth. Whole spectrum light is white, where the range of frequencies is all the colours of the rainbow, between ultra violet and infra red. (many more than 7!)

    Red Sky

    Red Sky

  • Our Sun is one of the brightest stars in the galaxy, the others being mostly red dwarfs.
  • The colours that we see in our world are relative to the different frequencies in the spectrum of light, and the co-responding frequency of the material from which the light reflects. E.g. all green things vibrate at the same frequency of green in the light spectrum and reflect the light photons into the eye where we register it as green.

SPACE

  • Since the creation of our Sun Star, the energy that blasted it into all the matter that eventually formed the planets has propelled the planets out into their orbits, to either return once again to their origin, or to be cast out into space as the Sun burns up and dies.
  • The solar system is presently located in an interstellar ‘cloud’ (of gas), near Orion, and between Perseus and Sagittarius constellations.
  • **The solar system rotates against the backdrop of 12 constellations (groups of stars) that we place in the Zodiac sphere, divided into 12 ‘Houses’ **, and one rotation takes about 26,000 years.
  • The Alignment of our Sun to the centre of our Galaxy happens twice in this 26,000 year cycle and it is thought that this will take place next in 2012. This alignment happens when our Sun crosses the Galactic Plane, in its undulating path above and below this plane.

SYMBOLOGY

  • The Sun is the Source of our Light, and the direct enlightenment of our physical world, and night-time is the  temporary Dark, or dream time. Our material reality is experienced consciously with our physical senses, but the dream time is experienced unconsciously.

    Sun

    Sun symbol

  • It is because of this Light that the Sun is seen as a god – our ‘Sun God’ and worshiped (because it is distant and powerful) in a long-distance relationship. Its warmth and light is seen as the Sun God’s Love for us because it keeps us alive and happy. It makes living easy for us.
  • But it’s power can also destroy us and is feared as the Sun God’s ‘wrath’. It’s power can strike down in Lightning (Solar or Cosmic?), cause the Fires of Destruction, and kill us. If we don’t shelter from it when it is too hot or bright – when it is too powerful – it can harm us.
  • And so the way we can communicate with the Sun God is with intent, knowledge and action, in ceremony and ritual designed around the Sun, especially at certain times like the solar eclipses, equinoxes and solstices, and dawn and dusk.
  • The Sun God is considered to be masculine, whereas the Earth Goddess is considered to be feminine.  When God’s Spirit – the seed of  life, love and light – enters the Earth Body – the womb of creation –  it conceives new life  and God Consciousness is born. We can see this miracle in everything that lives and grows.
  • But everything that grows, will eventually come to Death – just like the Sun God at sunset and at the Winter Solstice (shortest day/longest night). This includes humans: we are born, we live and we die.
  • Yet Life is reborn in a re-creation, a renewal of creation, and in re-incarnation, or re-in-body-ment, of new life. Just as the Sun God is reborn every sunrise and each new year. It will continue in this way until the Earth Body cannot re-create; when the Earth Goddess becomes too old, too hot or too cold to pro-create physically and sustain life (if we don’t destroy her first). This is in direct relation to the age of the Sun God, which will also eventually die. But as it is the Source of all life, perhaps life returns again to the Source?

zodiac

zodiac

**ASTROLOGY ZODIAC Wherever the Sun is placed when you are born will determine which Sun Sign of the Zodiac you are. Leo is the happy sign that is ruled by the Sun itself. The sun aligns with each constellation in turn, for about 2165 years, (if the cycle is divided equally, rather than to sidereal time) but appears to go backwards. The buzz-word is that we have just left Pisces and are now in Aquarius. This is generally thought to be incorrect by astronomers, (rather than astrologers) who disagree amongst themselves but taking an average, expect the transition into Aquarius to happen in about 600 years. Nevertheless, a transition doesn’t happen over night and may well start its effects earlier. The Zodiac is divided into 13, not 12 Houses, each relating to a constellation. The 13th one, Ophiuchus, has been left out as it is a short transition, and the tradition of 12 persists. All these placements, alignments and configurations affects us all in differing ways at different times. It can be thought of as moving through a rainbow, basking in turn in a different colour, or a range of notes, enjoying different music. It is a different experience.

RELIGION – The ‘All-that-is’ God may or may not be the Sun. (I feel that as we know there is more beyond our Sun, the ‘All-that-is’ God, would be bigger than the Sun, but of course would include the Sun as it would include everything). In Christianity, there are claims that ‘Christ’ is the living Sun consciousness/Spirit that expressed itself specifically through one man, for the enlightenment of Humanity. Another Archangel of the Sun is Lucifer, a fallen Angel. Perhaps Lucifer brought visible light and created illumination and Christ brought the invisible Light and created spiritual enlightenment.  When talking religion, each has its own expression.

Sun God

Sun God

MYTHOLOGY – There are probably as many names for the Sun God as there are cultures around the world. What is sure is that they all recognise the power and importance of the Sun. Apollo and Archangel Michael perhaps represent messengers from the Sun God. Quetzalcoatl, of the Aztec/Toltec time, from Middle America, was more a living Sun god who brought enlightenment to man, like Jesus Christ, of the Bible Times, from the Middle East. Chinese fire dragons represent the Sun’s energy on and in Earth. Here are some other Sun gods:

(continued below this chart…)

Name of God Nationality or Religion God or Goddess or ? Notes
Amaterasu Japan Sun goddess One of the few Female aspects of the Sun god
Apollo/ Michael Greece and Rome Sun god A messenger from the Sun as he visited mankind
Freyr Norse Sun god Not the main Norse Sun god, but a fertility god associated with the sun.
Garuda Hindu Bird God Birds are often seen as messengers to the Sun
Helios, Helius Greece Sun God Before Apollo was the Sun god of the Greeks, Helios held that position.
Huitzilopochli Aztec Sun God One of many. The Aztecs used gold to please their Sun gods, as the Sun appeared gold.
Inti Inca Sun God The Inca Shamen flew to the Sun and back with messages.
Liza West African Sun God A female name in the West, but this may not be female.
Lugh Celtic Sun God The Celtic fire festival of summer, high sun, is named after Lugh.
Ra, Re Egypt Mid-day Sun God One of the Egyptian gods shown with a solar disk. Center of worship was Heliopolis. Later associated with Horus (time) as Re-Horakhty. Also combined with Amun to form Amun-Ra, a solar creator god.
Sol, Sunna Norse Sun Goddess She rides in a horse-drawn solar chariot across the sky from east to west.
Sol Invictus Roman Sun God The unconquered sun (reflecting their desire to be unconquered?). A late Roman sun god. The title was also used of Mithras.
Surya Hindu Sun God Rides the sky in a horse-drawn chariot.
Tonatiuh Aztec Sun God Relating to a different phase of the sun?
Utu, Shamash Jewish Sun God Depicted as a winged solar disc

SUN MEDICINE – The Sun has always been honoured by all cultures worldwide, in rituals and ceremonies, prayers and supplications because of the recognition of its power and importance. For pagan and indigenous groups, the four seasonal Fire Festivals offer rites of passage and initiation. The Glastonbury pop festival may be seen as the modern day version of the summer solstice festival, and Christmas is a Christianising of the winter solstice festival. The equinoxes were also fire festivals for seed-sowing and harvesting. Fire is used in nearly all ceremonies, sometimes as candles, to represent the Sun’s power and light.

TREES, Plants, Animals and Us – As our largest plants, trees photosynthesise sunlight on a grand scale. They store the Sun’s energy as oils in their wood. Logs used for fires release the stored Sun energy, concentrated over hundreds of years, as they burn, and we can enjoy the light and warmth of the Sun during the cold dark months. Fossil fuels are stored sunlight from over millenia. All plants photosynthesise the sun’s energy into sugars, carbohydrates, vitamins and proteins, the edible ones being food for us. All food is stored sunlight. In the absence of plants, we can eat animals, which have also stored sunlight by converting their food into flesh. Our bodies are stored sunlight.

Sunbathing

Sunbathing

NATURAL HEALTH – It is vital to all living things to be exposed to the Sun’s light and warmth. Sunlight synthesises in melanin, in human skin, to protect it, causing it to darken, (tan) and it promotes ‘vit’ D, (a prohormone) essential for healthy skin and bones. Sunlight is uplifting, energising and creates happiness. Even on a dull day, sunlight can penetrate cloud and be therapeutic to mood and health. Ideally we were made to live outside, but originally we may have had more hair  or stronger skin to protect us. Sunlight activates the pineal gland and creates melatonin at night, which is beneficial for our biological time-clock, bio-rhythms and sleep. But like everything, too much can be detrimental.

SUN WATCHING – Since the beginning of time humans have sat and contemplated the rising and setting sun. There is good reason for this. First, it is good to contemplate the start and end of a day; to plan, and to reflect, to pray and to give thanks to the source of life. It is meditative to watch the sun arrive and disappear and puts life into perspective. It allows a sense of peace and contentment in the spirit of man, and assists enlightenment.

Sungazing

Sungazing

There has been a revival of this act of sun-gazing, encouraged by the wise elders of both east and west. There is a time when it is beneficial and not harmful to look at the Sun, but go with caution. (A few minutes after sunrise and before sunset). If you are new to doing this, start with only a few seconds and build the time slowly and carefully. This practice will change your life.

LIFE BEYOND – When considering LIFE, we observe everything that we can and draw our knowledge from it   But it is one thing to have knowledge, and another thing entirely to have the wisdom to use it well! It is within the experience of many, that the finite life of our physical dimension has another, more mysterious, magical and miraculous aspect that is beyond the physical dimension and unrestricted by time. Beyond our solar system there is an array of constellations, and a Galaxy that is spiraling around. Beyond this galaxy there is Outer Space with more galaxies and Super Novas and universes. Outer space is a mirror image of our inner space. (As above, so below). If we go inward far enough, we now know that something extra-ordinary happens. A single light particle, which is also a wave vibration through a range of frequencies, can exist in at least two places at once. That gives it a quantum potential of being either this or that or something else. But what determines it’s fate? How does it choose? Is it random or does it have a design, a purpose and free will? Can we influence it – when we relate to it?

Take that knowledge and go outward as far as we can and the same law may apply. A single Sun, Galaxy and Universe can possibly exist in at least two potential places. So what determines which exists and which doesn’t? Possibly only our observance and perception, experience, acceptance and/or belief of it.

THE MIND OF THE SUN (CONSCIOUSNESS)

Living Sun

Living Sun

If there is one thing that is unique to the experience of  the human being, it is that we can think: we are conscious, or sentient. Using this power of thought we can become ‘Enlightened’. And by using this power of thought we can determine, in every second, whether to do this, or to do that, or something else. In this way we use our MIND to create, with free will and the power of choice.

If we humans can create, and we are such minute specks in a vast physical world, and we know that the Sun can create life on earth, is it not impossible to speculate that the Sun has a MIND too? Is this not the SOURCE of our creative, powerful, either/or potential, which makes our existence unique? And if we, as living entities, are conscious, with an ability to make choices, surely the SOURCE of life is CONSCIOUS too.

If we are the embodiment of our CONSCIOUSNESS, is not every living thing the embodiment of its consciousness?

space sun

space sun

So, is the SUN the embodiment of its CONSCIOUSNESS?

And beyond the Sun…….

*Law of Attraction Part 3

(if you can see odd lettering above picture it is irrelevant to the article)

PART 3

Attractiveness suggests loveliness, something that is a beauty in the eye of the beholder.

As discussed in Part 2, the initial attraction in an unbalanced situation soon turns to a grim reality, a not-so attractive scenario where the ugly truth shows itself. That is only one aspect of the Law of Attraction, but one that serves a very important purpose in bringing one’s conscious awareness to some karmic problem.

Karma is a word heard more and more these days as the spiritual human comes to understand the Law of Creation. Whatever one sows, one will reap later, sometimes in a subsequent life where the seed that was sown has been forgotten. Karma is not all bad, although a lot of it is because for some reason we seem to have accumulated a lot of bad fruits. The sins of the father will be visited on the sons, suggests that it is not an immediate thing. The fruit of the seed sown takes time, maybe more than one life-time, to show itself.

Stevenson had no idea his early coal-driven steam engine would lead to wars, death and destruction in the Middle East. The Seneca Indians had no idea that their oily puddle was the tip of a massive oil-berg that would eventually lead to a poison called plastic.

Nevertheless, the Law of Attraction brings us all rewards too, because many seeds that are sown give the sweet fruits of evolution, creativity, enlightenment, Love and compassion, beauty and knowledge.

There may be a time when an act of kindness, generosity of spirit, compassion, self-sacrifice, voluntary dedication, friendship, loyalty, perseverance, bravery, craftsmanship, artistic accomplishment, purity, honesty and more, sows a seed.

Miracles, Divine intervention, Angelic rescues, windfalls, good luck and even synchronicity [serendipity], are the fruits of such seeds. When something really good just drops on your proverbial plate, rest assured you have deserved it. And it may or may not have anything to do with wealth or success, for a reason.

There is a part of you that knows what is good for you, what you most need and what would help you most. And that part is not the part that would like to win the lottery, retire to a place in the sun and live happily ever after with the partner of your dreams, in a huge mortgage-free house with matching pink Ferrari and Porsche parked outside.

The part of you that knows best may know that winning the lottery is what’s good for you – to learn about wealth, financial management, generosity, begging letters, and losing it all again.

The part of you that knows best may know that what you need is a holiday, a break from routine – to get a new perspective on your empty life.

The part of you that knows best may know that the partner best suited to your evolution happens to be a walking god or goddess who steals your fortune, abuses you and takes away your freedom – to help you wake up, deal with that karma and get back on track.

If your Higher Self and your lower self are in agreement, what you think you want may arrive.

If they are not, no amount of wishing, hoping, focusing, making wish-boards, filling out questionnaires on design-a-man/woman/life will ever bring it about.

Good things come because you have aligned yourself with your Highest Aspect. The good things that come may not be material. They may be a sense of contentment and peace, unconditional love from, and for, those around you, experience of harmony and balance. You may find abundance in the form of knowing you have everything you need, spiritual enlightenment, a joy in your work, Grace and fearlessness, love. This is regardless of what you have, have not, are, are not, do or don’t do.

“Remarkable are the Blessings that come from not dreading, not desiring, not hoping, not regretting, not waiting, not rushing, not wanting, not resisting, not being afraid.”

Sri Rameesh Purah

It could be that the Law of Attraction is only one part of the Law of Creation. It pushes us away from that which does not create and pulls us towards that which does.

Happy New Light Year!

I mean it. I wish you a really Happy New Light Year.

When you wake up on the 1st January, 2009, it will be a very auspicious moment – to start the new day, the New Year and the next part of your life in the most brand-new way possible, with a real ‘light bulb’ moment of self-realisation.

And it is absolutely possible.

First of all, a little science.

In all that matters there is energy – a living, creating energy, full of life. This energy has a magnetism which attracts more energy. It is very attractive, in fact it is irresistible. When it is seen, it is the most beautiful thing. This magnetic energy attracts towards itself energy that is also very irresistible. When it is known, it is the most powerful thing. One type of energy appears to spiral downwards and as soon as it meets the other type of energy, which seems to spiral upwards, we can experience the effect that it has created.

Now, if the effect that has been created doesn’t feel, sound or look good, in the eye of the beholder, something is missing – the magnetic attraction. If something is the matter, it needs enlightening.

The up-spiralling energy contains information – in-form-ation. There is data in its form. The down-spiralling energy contains enlightenment – en-lighten-ment. There is power to turn on the light. As soon as light is shed on the data, we can see what is the matter.

Anything that feels uncomfortable in our lives needs a little light to make it known. When we can see it and understand it fully and consciously it is beautiful. When it is beautiful it is irresistibly attractive and we can love it. Giving love to the problem can switch on the light.

So, in this first moment, of the first day of the year, switch on the light. In every possible moment from then on seek to shed light on what you can’t see. Seek to understand what the discomfort is helping you to become aware of. Then, when you are fully conscious of it, you and the life you create will be the most powerful, beautiful thing. In this way you can heal your life and create the life of happiness that you seek.

The New Sun is starting to grow in strength, rising slowly on its path through the sky and lengthening the day – 2 minutes every day. That’s one hour a month. Imagine all that new light going into a light- bulb moment in your mind, and illuminating your life.

If you close your eyes, while you can see nothing, create a symbolic picture of a world full of light – for example, colours, music, warmth, friends, health, happiness and love. Consciously create the world you want to live in and then imagine it flowing into the world through you, until it is real. Then put it into action. Act in all those colours, sounds and friendliness and with love.
